Hmm, that’s a good question.

I have that thought quite often when reading messages in the Insider Forum. There are always plenty of solid conversation starters within the various threads.

Often times, there isn’t a definitive answer to the question.

Various points of view on a particular topic can lead to solutions that may not have been considered otherwise.

Perhaps this will be one of those instances.

The question has to do with possibly changing a pricing structure and looking for data to help inform that decision.

Finding Average Membership Retention

How long does each of your members remain a member?

This may be something you haven’t thought much about. But, this information could be put to good use.

If you know how long the majority of your member stick around, you can look into ways to entice them to stay longer. Or, you can investigate in order to find out why most tend to leave around the same time.

In this forum thread, an Insider is re-evaluating their set up a bit and considering switching from a recurring billing model to a one time payment.

They are looking for a way to determine the average time between a member sign up and a member cancellation.

How would you calculate that value?
