We haven’t done one of these in a while.
A “Blast from the Past” edition of Forum Focus takes another look at an older forum thread. These threads usually include common questions or issues that can affect membership sites at any time.
We are looking at a conversation dealing with guest accounts and how they should be created and managed.
Is one guest account a good idea for multiple members?
Are there any problems that might come up in this case?
This question and more are addressed in this discussion.
It happens with many membership sites.
The site owner wants to create a free account for an individual or a group of people to login and access content at no charge.
This may be a situation where the account is for a friend or in many cases, the guest account is the first step towards a potential paid account.
The guest is able to purchase full access once they have checked out what the site has to offer.
So should one guest account be used for multiple people to login?
That isn’t typically the most ideal solution and we get into the reasons why within this forum thread.
Perhaps you have created guest accounts in the past. Or maybe you are considering a guest account right now.
