WishList Insider – Forum Focus 20

We realize a lot can happen throughout the course of a week. Everyone can become busy with a little of “this” and a lot of “that” during their day to day lives so it’s not always easy to keep on top of all the useful and helpful posts within the Insider Forums.

For these reasons we have decided to apply some focus to a number of posts each week that we believe can benefit our Members.

Read on for summaries and links to this week’s “Forum Focus” Posts.

Suggestions on Setting up Content

When is it a good time to offer TWO Membership Levels instead of one all encompassing Membership Level?

This can be a bit of a tricky question.  Factors have to be considered like:

“Do I have enough members to warrant multiple Membership Levels?”

“What content gets included in which Membership Level(s)?”

“Are there varying skill/talent levels within your members?”

Check out this thread for a conversation on this and more.

Membership Site Model

Here is a case of which do you like more?

Option A or Option B?

In this scenario, a WishList Insider is asking everyone which type of URL they prefer for a sales page and for the members section.

Two possibilities are presented for you to offer up an opinion and some advice towards.

Of course, if you have another idea, a 3rd horse could enter the race!

Head over to this thread to see what others are saying and to insert yourself into the conversation.

Need Help Setting My Site Up

This is a very common request in the forums and it’s always great to see an Insider take the time to offer some suggestions and knowledge on what steps are the best when just starting out.

This thread involves options for different product offerings and exactly how to present those to potential members.

Of course, this is one option available.  We encourage everyone to inject their own suggestions and ideas into the mix.

If everyone who was just starting out took advice from some of the veterans in the forum and then returned the favour when they themselves become veterans, we would have a circle of solid advice that never ended!

  1. @Wray…interesting discussion in the, “Suggestions on setting up content”. Going down from three levels to one, and selling a lifetime membership and then increasing payments and a payment plan. GENUIS!
More levels is not always better. Better to have 1k members at 17$ per month than 300 at 39$ per month.

Very good points, @David. It’s a very important decision when considering “one vs, many” in terms of membership levels.

You really need to consider your market and price. The thread does a good job of exploring those options.
