An Insider offered their two cents in this discussion but it’s certainly worth more than a couple of pennies.

Most WishList Member users know how to protect pages and posts. They are also aware of the ability to protect categories and comments too.

This knowledge goes a long way towards building an effective membership site.

But, there is a not-so-well-known protection option taking center stage in this quick featured forum thread.

Members can login and access protected content.

That is usually the bare minimum expected from a membership site.

But what happens if that is only half right?

The login functionality seems to work fine until they try to access a members-only section. Then it asks them to login again. Didn’t they already login? They definitely did.

So why is it asking them to do it again?

That is a very good question.

This is one of those difficult topics.

At least, it can feel difficult. Especially when you are in the middle of dealing with it.

There aren’t many people who enjoy dealing with conflict. It is almost the complete opposite. We tend to avoid conflict whenever we can. But that is not always possible.

Avoiding the issue can even result in an eventual larger problem.
