Thanks James – glad you enjoyed it :)

People will pay for “convenience” – it’s an important lesson ALL membership site owners should remember.

Glad to hear you’re using this principle in your site.

    Stu,

This Spring a client did her first “Virtual Training.” And because she was not yet convinced of the value of this model we chose to use a single password-protected directory for access to the training materials. It was easy, easy to manage, and it worked to serve its purpose for the time.

The “event” was so successful that she has decided to incorporate the “Virtual Training” model into her business model moving forward, and we are now going to set up a new Wishlist-powered training site that will consolidate all of her current and future trainings under one “membership” area for her “Students.”

Not only will this give each Student his or her own UserName and Password (and control over it), but it will also allow us to use the “Student Area” to cross-promote all of her trainings, plus additional upsells, downsells, etc. under one log-in area.

I’m very excited for this development on behalf of this client, and looking forward to hearing Leesa’s take on how she uses Wishlist to manage her “Virtual Events,” so that we can learn from her and incorporate her wisdom into this project as it unfolds.

Thanks as always for your excellent – even exceptional – support of the Wishlist community!

Great info. I need to listen to this again so that I can rethink through some of the information.

The only thing that I don’t agree with is the use of SimplePress. I know that others are in love with it, but I have become less impressed by using it on a couple sites (that I visit, not own).

The problem I see is speed. When a WP site gets slowed down, which I now notice more and more, probably b/c I dealt with it myself – the forum also gets really slow.

I can wait a short (very short) time for content, but not when I’m trying to “discuss”.

bbpress is simple, lite and quick.

The process to integrate bbpress users to wordpress users is beyond simple too. So simple that I was able to do it myself.

I know that it’s nice to know when my site slows down, at least the forum stays lightening quick.

    Just my experience.

I’ve also recently run across another membership site that had integrated a forum into its membership area. They were using “phpBB”.

Is there a list of forum solutions that Wishlist Member easily integrates with? I know SimplePress works; what are some others and are there posts to simplify integrating them into a Wishlist Member controlled site?
