You won’t want to miss all the awesome-ness from the last 7 days (Q & A Sessions, Making It “Stick”, Planning Your Year, “a la cart” Memberships and MORE!)

Neither Rain, or Snow or Dark of night will stop them from creating a new ITI!!!

    • Wray January 20, 2012 at 2:12 pm #

      @Rodger – Hahaha it’s true!

No way I would deliver mail in this weather though ;)

    • Stu McLaren January 20, 2012 at 3:17 pm #

Well Wray was hoping at least one of those would work so he could get the day off but you know me, I said “No way Wray” :P

      LOL

Fun video seeing y’all in different locations. Still haven’t watched all EIGHT hours of the training videos, but have watched Modules 1 and 2. Looking forward to 3 and 4 next week.

What tool did y’all use to record the split screen interview? A colleague of mine wants to interview me for a webinar using a split screen tool and wanted to see if you would recommend the one you used.

    Have a great weekend!

    • Wray January 20, 2012 at 2:14 pm #

@Maria – That 8 hours of training is FULL of good stuff so be sure to check it out when you have time.

@Stu actually recorded the video on his end with something on his Macbook I believe.

I know Camtasia is an option. You can set it up to record the screen :)

    • Stu McLaren January 20, 2012 at 3:20 pm #

@Maria – We actually used GoToMeeting (same company that we use for our webinars) and they have a new feature called HDFaces.

From there I recorded my screen using “ScreenFlow” (since I’m on a Mac) or you could use Camtasia on the PC.

If this is something you’d like us to go a little further in let me know and we’ll consider doing some follow up trainings on it.

      • Joel Preston January 20, 2012 at 5:09 pm #

Yes – a tutorial/training … or even a detailed post … on using GoToMeeting or Skype or ooVoo to do a split-screen interview. For that matter, I’ve tried to figure out how I could do a split-screen video with a PowerPoint on one side and my mug on the other. Haven’t found anything about it in the forum, so ….

  3. Cheri Bennett January 20, 2012 at 2:32 pm #

Thanks for the shout out Wray & Stu. And thank you for creating such an awesome site with amazing people and great content!

I have a MAC and I’m going to be doing some interviews with people in other locations – so I want to know the details of how you did the split screen interview too!

    • Wray January 20, 2012 at 2:57 pm #

@Cheri – No problem, we saw you getting involved all over Insider so we wanted to say “thanks” :)

We love when new members jump right in with both feet!

I’ll talk to @Stu about getting the name of the program he used to record.

    • Stu McLaren January 20, 2012 at 3:21 pm #

@Cheri – We actually used GoToMeeting and the new feature called HDFaces.

I then recorded it using ScreenFlow :)

  4. David Brinton January 20, 2012 at 3:42 pm #

That was really cool. Love the split screen thingy, but the sound was suffering a little. Will this be a regular feature?

Kudos for you guys. @Stu…your a tough task master…no wray Wray for time of due to inclement weather.

    • Wray January 20, 2012 at 3:55 pm #

@David – We’ll see how often we do this. There will be more times when we’re in different places, so my guess is “yup”. We’ll see what we can do about the sound :)

If I want a “snow day” I’m in the wrong business lol

  5. Joel Preston January 20, 2012 at 5:10 pm #

And another thing: where the heck is Faye?? It’s been WEEKS! I’m starting to think we should file a missing persons report.

    • David Brinton January 20, 2012 at 6:56 pm #

      @Joel…I had the same thought.

    • Wray January 23, 2012 at 10:14 am #

@Joel and @David – Faye has been working hard with some stuff (Wishies, etc.) but she’ll make an appearance soon! Promise :)

I assume people get email when someone comments. Please forgive me for using this for this purpose. But if it was your business, I hope you would do the same thing. The weekend is my businest time because of all the sports. @Wray feel free to delete this message at some point.

    1. Website will not connect to internet if Wishlist Member is activated.
    2. The Wishlist Customer Center where I go to download the plugin and license information will not connect.
    3. Went to my test website to try different scenarios. When trying to upgrade wishlist member plugin on test site, I get the error message

    “”"” Download failed. Couldn’t resolve host ‘www.wpwishlist.com’ “”

My website is unprotected right now. I know it is not on my end because of the fact that the Wishlist Customer Center

    http://customers.wishlistproducts.com/wishlist-downloads/

    is not working either.

Plus on my test site, I get this message when trying to do an upgrade..

“”"host ‘www.wpwishlist.com could not resolve “”"

I know it is Saturday, but I assume the problem could be widespread. Any help, advice or information concerning this would be great. Thank you.

    • Wray January 23, 2012 at 10:02 am #

@JD – We had a licensing issue over the weekend due to the hosting service we were using. We’ve resolved the issue and taken steps to prevent this from happening in the future.

Please be assured that we were aware of the issue and worked quickly to fix it :)

  7. JD Wade January 21, 2012 at 2:14 pm #

Okay now I know it is not just my website @Wray or @Stu. Please check Wishlist Insider Forum to see the problem. At least 10 others with same License issue with website down and unprotected.

    • Wray January 23, 2012 at 10:03 am #

@Stu and @Tracy were able to jump into the forum and leave an update regarding the licensing issue. We were able to resolve the issue and take measures so it won’t happen again.

  8. Todd Lamb January 21, 2012 at 4:01 pm #

    I was/am having similar issues…

    • Wray January 23, 2012 at 10:04 am #

@Todd – We got it all squared away :)

  9. Sander Goorden January 23, 2012 at 4:57 am #

You guys are the best! After building membership sites for clients since 2009 (with Wishlist Member offcourse), I finally get around setting up my own membership website!

Thanks for all the good info, plugins and insights!

    • Wray January 23, 2012 at 10:04 am #

Glad it working out for you @Sander!

Please feel free to post a link to your site so we can check it out :)

  10. Noah Fleming January 23, 2012 at 9:00 pm #

    You guys are too kind.

I am wondering when I can make my first live appearance on Wishlist Insider. Maybe episode 100?? :-)

Really great stuff here. The a la carte stuff is great. Checking that out now. Seems like someone is building a pretty killer site. Weigh-in please.

Welcome to all the new folks. That’s amazing!

Stu – great first action steps ;-)

    • Wray January 24, 2012 at 9:16 am #

@Noah – Hmmm, a guest appearance on iTi. I think we could make that work ;)

We’ll talk and see about meeting up to film. I’ll start looking through my costume trunk now lol

  11. Trevor Roberts January 25, 2012 at 6:40 am #

    Great video guys!

Up until now, I’ve been something of a ‘lurker’, but this year I’m looking forward to giving something back and I plan to participate much more.

Keep up the good work :)

    • Wray January 25, 2012 at 9:14 am #

@Trevor – That’s awesome! We love to hear that and definitely encourage you to “talk out”. You already gave me a laugh on the Wall with your line about banana bread :)

      “See” you around the site.
